Left Side of Palette

• Titanium white
• Yellow ochre
• Cadmium red

Right Hand Side

• French ultramarine
• Raw umber

Look carefully at the shadows (and whites of the eyes) to determine the direction of light.
Mid-tone image has a limited palette

And looking back at this now I can see the truth in the fact that

No amount of colour or tone will compensate for (uncorrected) drawing errors

The poor guy needs an eye adjusting up! (Oh, and have I strayed from a Zorn palette by adding a tiny bit of Alizarin Crimson to the lips?)
