Peter used Michael Harding oil colours
Artists mentioned were:
Initial drawing–on a white canvas–was yellow and red (mixed to make a strong orange colour), with a bit of paint thinner. Peter used a number 4 hog filbert brush. Same colour mix was used for the block-in, and then darker tones achieved with crimson and cadmium yellow.
Tone does all the work and colour gets all the credit
Paler highlights were applied with number 8 brush (pale yellow, using Cadmium Yellow and White). Thicker (cool) highlights were mixed with the light blue minty toothpaste colours.
