The colours used for this portrait were (Michael Harding):

• Titanium White
• Cadmium Yellow
• Cadmium Red Light
• Alizarin Crimson
• Ultramarine Blue

However, unlike previous weeks the reference photo (and portrait) used an analogous palette. Base yellow colour by made with Cadmium Yellow and a tiny amount of Cadmium Red, to make a warm yellow. Thos was applied it with a large (number 14, flat) hog brush and a little solvent. A rag was then used to rub out where the face was going to appear.
